We are so cautious when we give. Even if we don’t say it, we often wonder if the person or cause deserves my giving. Have you ever thought that your greatest possessions, are not yours because you worked for them or deserve them? Like your life, your salvation, your children, the rain that falls just when you need it, and the sun that shines and brightens your day have all been received without your working for them. There are hosts of other things you don’t work for or deserve it; yet you still receive. If we look carefully, we realize that most of what we have, we have received freely from the hands of a merciful and loving God.
Matt. 10:8 says, “…freely you have received, freely give.”
It is Him who calls us to give joyfully, 2 Corinthians 9:7 “Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.” While I’m not suggesting to be careless with what the Lord has blessed us with, let us purpose in our hearts to give out of what we have so richly received.
In so many ways I have been the recipient of so much that the Lord and you have contributed to my life as well as the ministry that for this season He has entrusted to me.
Thanks and many blessings to you all.
